Voting ends on Thursday, September 22 at midnight. One vote per person, please.

Day in the Life 2011

Sharing Our Own World With You

Dear Readers,

If you know us well, you know what we do 365 days a year.  We document your life & your love.  And you also know how much we enjoy it, too.  If you don’t know us very well.  You’re about to get to know us more than you thought.

Every year around this season we stop for 12 hours and turn the cameras around to face our own lives.  We love it for many reasons.  We are photojournalists and it’s ingrained in our souls.  We can not live without our cameras.  We also understand how important these fleeting, but priceless moments will mean to us years from now.  One year makes a huge difference is so many ways.  It’s so great to see how we’ve grown and changed, even through the daily routines that make up our lives.

This year our theme for the contest was documenting your routines, however mundane or exciting they are.  They make our worlds go round and round.  We all know that without them we would have chaos.  And our lives are hectic enough as it is.

Some of you were inspired enough to commit to the task of turning the cameras on yourselves.  We guarantee you will appreciate it down the road.  You have until September 15 at 3:oo pm to submit your 5 favorite images for our contest. Details are posted below.

Routines. They make our world go round and round.  They help guide us through our daily lives. They keep us from going too crazy.  They are learned from the past, incorporated into the present and shared for generations. They come in many forms.  They are absolutely needed to survive.

And we love to document them.  And so should you.

So, our contest for you viewers during our September 13, 2011 Day in the Life is to document your favorite family routine that you are included in or like to observe. As I mentioned in an earlier post, this can be anything!  Bath time, bed time, breakfast, play time, reading, games, chatting in bed, walk in the park, ice cream after dinner etc….  You get the gist.  Whatever it is that you do daily to make your world keep going, document it or have it documented.  We want to see it and we’d love for you to share it with us.

Ariel and Rob’s Annapolis Wedding

Day in the Life Contest 2011

It’s that time of year again where we get the opportunity to share with you the intimate little aspects of our  daily routines and the unexpected moments that make up our lives.  All of us can relate to each others lives with it’s similarities and conflicts, but somehow each of us come out of a 24 hour period with something unlike any other day.  Thank goodness or we’d be bored to death.

We, of course, want our audience to participate and share something special about their lives too.  This year we’re going to mix it up a little. We want you to document your most favorite daily routine you share with your family or family member. This can be anything!  Bath time, breakfast, play time, reading, games, chatting in bed, walk in the park, ice cream after dinner etc….  You get the gist.  Whatever it is, document it or have it documented.  We want to see it and we’d love for you to share it with us.
